I like the idea, but it is very confusing. Navigating even to the game itself, past the menu, is difficult. I ended up in all kinds of different 32x32 sub menus, and even an external link. I eventually kind of figured out that actions use what looks like stamina (the green blocks), and that you need to rest in bed once you use it up. I grew wheat as high as it would go, yet nothing happened after that. Pixel dude just shrugs. I ended up pressing down on the green chest, and pixel dude is permanently stuck, flapping his arms. If you could somehow, and I understand this is supposed to be low res 32x32, make it user friendly, this game could be a fun little time waster.

Satyre responds:

Oh that's interesting. I thought I used meaningful letters and controls. If you grow a plant to the max, then you will automtically collect it, visualised by the flying graphics above the player. You can always check how much you've harvested using the green chest and pressing left or right.

Good idea, but the play isn't too smooth. I like the retro feel, but maybe use arrow keys/WASD for movement and like space for attack, and a different button for bombs. Using the mouse to move around seems very clunky, especially with the link for the meme game website in the top right. Clicking that while trying to get to any enemy in the top right is very annoying. You already have a ludicrously big link for it on the main screen. Keeping that icon in the top right is not only redundant, but interferes with play, especially since it is for the most part, mouse controlled. This game has some potential, but it gets repetitive pretty fast. Very basic upgrades and fight mechanics. I'd like to see it again, but beefed up.

Thanks for the feedback. This game is pretty old, now I can see the many issues it have. :P
Thanks for playing.

I see some reviews noting that you shouldn't make a Pokemon fan game. I disagree, but some points still stand. Fighting seems broken to me. I look at the HP of the pokemon I battle against, and it seems like it doesn't matter even if my pokemon is stronger, the battle just seems like random win or lose. I'd recommend not only changing the screen size, (The screen is a bit too large horizontally, and a LOT of that is unused space, so I end up having to either zoom out in browser, or scroll up and down), but also making the mechanics of the game a lot more understandable and playable. I read that your game is based on chance, but make it a little more player friendly. Like what your chances are. More than just a battle where you click and you either win or lose. Some kind of way to determine what your pokemon's stats will do, or really anything more than just what seems right now like a coin toss for battle. Add some kind of feature that makes it when you hover your mouse over a button like Gym, or Laboratory, it has a popup info bubble that tells you something, anything. Then again, you did warn that this is a very early version, and I hope that you can clean up the animation quite a bit, and all the feedback you are getting will help you make this into a much more playable game, because I like the idea. This rating is for this version only. I'm sure the game will only improve. Ignore the "This game sucks" reviews, unless they offer constructive criticism as to why they disliked the game.

AceGames responds:

I agree, I already know ways to make it better, I am new to flash and write my own scripts so it can be hard sometimes. I am making it that when you click a battle it shows who you are going against and shows a versus sign and you will have the option to fight the pokemon or back out. I will also be adding stats, buy able moves, preloaders, and enemy animations, as well as a save and load button. All of these I hope to add in next version to the game to make it better. If you suggestions i'm all ears I don't abandon games due to critics that insult my games and don't offer advice. So if yiu any suggestions, chances are they will be added if they are possible.

The stars are for the nostalgia of one of the more ridiculous "games" I have ever stumbled across. Nice homage. The worst good game ever.

PhantomCat responds:

It's actually the best bad game ever, but thanks.

Neat idea, Kind of like those fish growth games, but not as involved. I did notice a bug however, where when you go from blue to yellow, instead of replacing the sprite, it overlaps the yellow over the blue, and sometimes the blue dude clips through the yellow dude.

4funnies responds:

Thank you for reviewing Maxi Feeder! I have removed the bug!
My goal with this game was to create a game with the elements: Avoid, Collect and Level Up. In the most abstract way.

This is not formatted correctly for newgrounds methinks.

Why do you say that?
