Holy cow! That was so far out surreal, yet so down to earth. This was weird as hell in the best way possible, and the artwork was outstanding! You got me attached to characters who speak no words, and get me to ride a rollercoaster of emotions in just 17 minutes. I think this is my favorite movie I have ever seen on here. It's like a Hayao Miyazaki film meets Bambi meets some kind of... something. I can't quite put my finger on what that something is, but I like it. I understand how long something hand drawn and thought out by one person can take, but holy shit, I added you as a favorite submitter so I don't miss whatever you put out next. It was just so bizarre (in the best way possible) that I don't even think you can call them plot twists. I had NO idea what would happen next, and I'm still processing it. I think I may watch it again tomorrow to see if there are subtle things I missed my first time around, because that really threw me for a loop. 5 stars, man. Thanks!
Awesome arcade brawler. Found out on my own you can hold <- or -> and hit 'S' to do a lunge attack. Maybe throw that in to the tutorial or controls in the description! Cool concept and game!
Man, I'm REALLY that hook from :37-:55. It sounds to me personally like Metalfied Indian or Nepalese influence. It might be because I've been replaying Far Cry 4. It reminded me of a \m/ (my attempt at throwing up the horns through text) version of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NcqtcAlo8w or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMCRWlDv4JE (google vid search "Far Cry® 4 trippy shit" and "Far Cry 4 Soundtrack - The Bombay Royale - The Bombay Twist" if links don't work through reviews. They'll be the top results. The title of the song fits especially well since I'm picturing a band consisting of sherpas up in the snowy Himalayas, melting, no, BURNNG a huge circle in the snowdrifts around them as they shred in a raging hailstorm. Like, snow actually catching fire. If i could paint, I'd want to put the mental imge I have right now down on s canvas.
"a hectic -minute metal track" indeed. Felt like my ears got run down by a dump truck filled with ice and blood. And I'm totally cool with that. I don't even have anything to nitpick about this either. It was just fun. Thanks \m/ . I do have a question though. It sounds like all the instruments were physically played. Even the drums. Are you and maybe some friends playing, and cleaning it up with some editing software? If not, what the hell are you using!?
Thanks for the feedback! Glad to hear you liked it :)
To answer your question, these demos are recorded and edited in Cubase. The drums are put together using EZDrummer 2 and then I record guitars and bass on top of that.
Pretty sweet \m/ I think it's pretty well polished. Any way to throw in more dramatic drops and rises like at 1:43? Also, the double bass around 1:59 is almost too fast, without enough oomph. kinda like it was a mini bass. Well done, though!
you've got it good, but with Yoda, you have the whisper/rasp of his down, but most of it sounds like he is whispering in someone's ear. towards the end, the "Travel down that path" would be a good constant, with the lowering to a whisper at the end of a sentence or statement. Like the very end of this demo. Also, as far as the ordering of the words, a lot of it was too fluid. You can look at Yoda speech like this: It shows signs of favoring OSV syntax (Object-Subject-Verb) as the basic order in the simple clause. In fact one could call it XSV syntax, where the X is whatever complement would appropriately go with the verb, whether it's an object or not.
Thank you very much for your comment. Yes, I do agree with you on how he speaks. I was going for the darker and more serious Yoda like when Luke says he is not afraid and Yoda responds with "you will be, you will be." A lower tone. Only on this one it would be as if he is speaking to a Padawan or maybe just someone who has decided to go down a different path in life. He maybe whispering it so that the recipient remembers, maybe he's sick, maybe he is so dead serious this time? Who knows? I wanted the dialogue to leave whatever story up to the imagination of the listener. Again, thank you so much for taking the time to comment on my Yoda audio. It really means a lot and I will take your advice to heart.
Gives me a Little Red Riding hood vibe, but on steroids. I love it. It feels like she is either broken, or has something up her sleeve, in case the Grimitaur is a being she doesn't know about, and is reay to pull an ace out of her sleeve to whoop ass, like she has a cool confidence about her, yet a sorrow, like when Obi-Wan has to fight Vader in the original trilogy. an almost resigned emotion.
